Situated at the confluence of the Grand and Speed rivers, Cambridge is a vibrant city nestled within the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. According to the 2021 census, its population stands at 138,479. Cambridge, along with Kitchener and Waterloo, forms the trio of core cities within Canada's tenth-largest metropolitan area.
The city of Cambridge came into existence in 1973 through the amalgamation of Galt, Preston, Hespeler, the settlement of Blair, and a small portion of surrounding townships. Galt, which now constitutes the southern half of Cambridge, accounts for the largest portion of the amalgamated city. Meanwhile, Preston and Blair occupy the western side, and Hespeler forms the most northeastern section.
